Breakfast with the Ambassador of Canada and the President of the CEOE.

On March 4, the Chamber, together with the CEOE, the Canadian Embassy in Spain, and with the special collaboration of our member CGI, held a breakfast to analyze bilateral economic relations between Canada and Spain.

The meeting featured the participation of the Ambassador of Canada, Jeffrey Marder, and the President of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, who spoke about the impact and potential of this collaboration in a changing global context.

The figures confirm the positive relations between the two countries, especially since the entry into force of the CETA Agreement:

  • Bilateral trade has grown by more than 60%.
  • Spain is the second-largest European investor in Canada.
  • There are more than 150 Spanish companies operating there.
  • The country offers a market with 40 million consumers.

What makes this alliance special?

Spain and Canada share principles such as multilateralism, legal stability, and international cooperation, creating an environment of trust for businesses. In a context of global uncertainty, Europe’s competitiveness depends on strengthening ties with strategic markets.

Thus, the relationship with Canada not only opens doors to North America but also boosts the growth of our companies within a framework of stability and investment opportunities.
