Mazen Mahfouz Appointed Ambassador of Canada to Ecuador.

The Canada-Spain Chamber of Commerce would like to extend its warmest congratulations to Mazen Mahfouz on his appointment as Ambassador of Canada to the Republic of Ecuador.

On 23 June 2026, the Honourable Anita Anand, Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced his diplomatic appointment. Mazen Mahfouz will succeed Craig Kowalik and will assume his new responsibilities in the coming months.

Mazen Mahfouz currently serves as Senior Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada in Spain. Over the past five years, the Chamber has had the privilege of benefiting from his close collaboration, unwavering support and strong commitment to our organisation.

His contribution has been instrumental in strengthening the relationship between the Embassy of Canada and the Canada-Spain Chamber of Commerce, while also supporting numerous initiatives that have helped foster our business community and strengthen the ties between Canada and Spain.

The Chamber would like to express its sincere gratitude for his outstanding work, professionalism and the exceptional support he has consistently shown to our members and to all Chamber initiatives.

As a token of our appreciation, on 15 July the Chamber hosted a farewell luncheon in his honour, where we had the opportunity to personally thank him for all his work and dedication over the years.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, our members and the entire team at the Canada-Spain Chamber of Commerce, we once again congratulate Mazen Mahfouz on this well-deserved appointment. We are confident that he will embrace this new responsibility with the same dedication, professionalism and commitment that have characterised his mission in Spain.

Congratulations, Mazen, and every success in this exciting new chapter!
