The Embassy of Canada and the Canadian Council of Forestry Ministers have partnered with Bioeconomy Ventures to organize a Pitching, Matchmaking and Networking event on October 4 (9:30-18:30 CET) in Barcelona.
The objective of this event is to create new alliances to achieve further development of innovative, cross-border and intersectoral industrial value chains in the bioeconomy.
After a fruitful Bilateral Bioeconomy Forum, we continue working to explore opportunities in the bioeconomy sector, and expand research and development networks and technological collaborations between Canadian and Spanish companies.
The Spanish and Canadian markets are promoting bioeconomy strategies at a national and regional level. The entire forestry value chain (activities to obtain and transform wood, cork, resin, pulp and paper), as well as the bioenergy subsector and other bioproducts, will be key to economic growth and have great potential for generating added value.
It will be a great opportunity for companies, technology centers, incubators and academia to come together to showcase their technologies and meet Canadian innovators.
The event will bring together investors, SMEs, start-ups, large companies and technology centers.
About the event
The day will begin with several conferences on bioeconomy and sustainable forest management, followed by two pitching sessions.
Canadian and European companies will present their pitches and a feedback session for investors or partners will take place.
The event will also feature a matchmaking activity, 15-minute b2b meetings that will allow participants to explore opportunities with new partners or investors.
These matchmaking sessions are open to Spanish companies, free of charge (there is no support for going to Barcelona for the event).
To participate in the b2b, a corporate presentation is required specifying the current work areas and the objective pursued with the event (technological co-development, participation in innovation projects…).
